What is a Document?

In Goodweek, a Document is a Work in which the AI writes directly into a structured canvas, rather than responding in a conversation thread. Its primary purpose is to turn an instruction into a complete, editable deliverable: a report, a meeting summary, a memo, or any other output you can refine and send.

This addresses a specific problem: a Chat answer is useful for thinking, but it is not a finished document. When you need something you can actually share, with a structure, a format, and content you can adjust section by section, Document mode gives you that directly.

The instruction you type is still a prompt: it guides what the AI writes, how it structures the content, the tone, and the level of detail. The more precise your instruction, the closer the first draft is to what you need.

A Document always inherits the context of the Space it belongs to: the Space's configuration, its Knowledge, and any Integrations attached to it. You can also add files directly into the Document for content specific to that task.

Once generated, a Document can be refined in two ways:

  • Directly in the canvas: edit any section manually, as you would in a word processor

  • Via the conversation panel: select a passage and give an instruction, or ask for broader changes across the whole document

Finally, a Document can be exported to Word in one click, with its structure and formatting preserved.

Your Document is strictly private to you, just like a Chat. No one else can see it, regardless of their role in your Organization.
