Connect your Slack account to Goodweek to send messages, read conversations, and manage channels directly from your AI workspace.
ℹ️ Governance note
Goodweek will never exceed the access levels granted to the user within Slack, guaranteeing alignment with your organization's governance policies. Outcomes and available features may vary depending on each user's specific permissions and authenticated access.
📋 Prerequisites
Before any user can see and connect the Slack integration, your organization admin must first enable it from the Goodweek Admin Panel under the Integrations tab.
Admin Setup
The Slack integration uses OAuth 2.0. In most workspaces, any member can connect directly. However, if your Slack workspace has app approval enabled, a Workspace Owner or App Manager must approve Composio first.
Scenario 1 — Default (no app approval required)
Any user can connect their Slack account directly. Follow the User Connection steps below.
Scenario 2 — App approval is enabled
If your workspace has "Require App Approval" enabled, a Workspace Owner or App Manager must approve Composio first:
In Slack, click your workspace name → Tools & settings → Manage apps → App management settings.
Search for Composio in the pending app requests, or add it manually, and approve it.
If Composio does not appear in the pending requests yet, a user must first attempt to connect from Goodweek — this generates an installation request the admin can then approve. Non-admin users will see their request stuck in "Request Submitted" until the admin acts.
Scenario 3 — Enterprise Grid workspaces
In Slack Enterprise Grid organizations, app management policies are set at the organization level by Org Owners. If your organization has an app approval policy, the Org Owner must approve Composio at the organization level:
Click your workspace name → Settings & administration → Organization settings.
Go to Settings → Organization Policies → Apps tab and approve the Composio app request.
⚠️ Enterprise Grid plan requirement for some tools
Certain admin-level Slack tools (workspace management, advanced conversation management) require an Enterprise Grid plan. If you are on a Free, Pro, or Business+ plan, these specific tools will not be available, but standard messaging and channel tools will work normally.
User Connection
In Goodweek, go to Integrations.
Find Slack and click Connect.
You will be redirected to Slack, where you will be asked to sign in and authorize access.
Select the workspace you want to connect and click Allow to return to Goodweek.
Important Notes
Each user must connect their own account individually.
Goodweek can only access channels and conversations that your individual user account is a member of. Private channels you have not been invited to are not accessible.
If you belong to multiple Slack workspaces, you will need to connect each workspace separately.
You can revoke Goodweek's access at any time from your Slack workspace → Apps → Composio → Remove app.

Troubleshooting
My connection request is stuck in "Request Submitted"
Your Slack workspace has app approval enabled and a Workspace Owner or App Manager has not yet approved Composio. Contact your Slack admin and ask them to approve the Composio app.
Admin approved Composio but users still cannot connect
In Enterprise Grid organizations, workspace-level approval may not be sufficient. The Org Owner may need to approve Composio at the organization level following Scenario 3 above.
Connected successfully but certain tools are not working
Some advanced Slack tools require an Enterprise Grid plan. If you are on a lower plan, these tools will not function. Standard messaging and channel tools should work normally.
Integration not visible in Goodweek
Make sure your organization admin has enabled the Slack integration from the Goodweek Admin Panel under the Integrations tab.
